The thing that I enjoy the most about being an English/Language Arts teacher is watching the student’s grasp of English increase, even if it’s just little increments at a time. It’s been fascinating to see the light bulb when it goes off in a student and you realize they understand where a comma goes or they understand that this is a symbol of something more, and most importantly, they understand themselves a little bit better. They are able to grasp why their life is the way it is based on something that they have read, and they make a connection and they can see that.
