The California Child Development Grant provides assistance to individuals interested in working at child care centers.
Award Amount
Up to $1,000 per academic year to attend a two-year college; up to $2,000 if attending a four-year institution.
Other Requirements/Conditions
You must be a California resident, be a US citizen or eligible noncitizen, meet Selective Service requirements, be enrolled at least half-time in courses leading to a permit, show financial need, and agree to one year of service for each year the grant is received. To receive funding, students must sign a Service Commitment Agreement stating they will provide one year of full-time service in a licensed children’s center for each year they receive the grant.
Application Process
Must be nominated by eligible postsecondary institution or employing agency. School must complete grade point average (GPA) and financial need information.

Deadline Date
May of each year.
