Requirements for Designated Subjects Career Technical Education (vocational education)
The vocational education credential authorizes the holder to teach the subjects named on the credential in grades K-12 and in classes organized primarily for adults in technical, trade or vocational courses. To obtain a preliminary credential that is valid only for three years, you must:
- Have three years of work experience directly related to the subject named on the credential
- Have a high school diploma met by one of the following:
- High school diploma
- GED diploma
- Foreign equivalent of a high school diploma
- Obtain verification and recommendation by a Commission-approved CTE program sponsor

- Complete application (form 41-4)

- Complete LiveScan (form 41-LS)

- Submit application processing fee
