Credentials

Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC): The commission is the State's agency that is responsible for the establishment of requirements for credentials that authorize public school teaching and services; standards for programs that prepare public school personnel; standards for subject matter programs; assessments of skills and knowledge; as well as the enforcement of professional practices standards.

AICCU (Independent Colleges and Universities): AICCU represents 71 California independent colleges and universities. These 71 institutions work together to maintain the high standards of a private college education. They take pride in offering a personal touch with respect to admissions, teaching, andcampus environment. At the same time, each campus has its own "uniqueness and individual character."
California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office: The California Community College system of two-year public institutions, composed of 107 statewide colleges organized into 72 districts, serves more than 1.5 million students and represents the largest system of higher education in the world.
California State University Chancellor's Office: The California State University is a 23-campus, statewide system of comprehensive and polytechnic universities and the California Maritime Academy. The CSU awards bachelor and master's degrees in more than 200 subject areas, employs 40,000 faculty and staff, and serves some 360,000 students. The Board of Trustees sets policy; the Office of the Chancellor oversees systemwide management.
University of California Office of the President (UCOP): The University of California is a nine campus system whose missions are teaching, research and public service. The UC system employs more than 160,000 faculty and staff and serves more than 201,000 students. Academic study areas on University of California campuses span more than 150 disciplines
