Be prepared at all times and this will aid you being a better teacher. Understand that all students can learn but also know that a teacher alone can't perform miracles even though you want to. Be yourself and have fun with your students.
The best award about teaching is seeing students grow but also that they see their growth and get excited about their new knowledge or gained confidence.
