What do you like best about being an Elementary teacher?
The thing I like the best about being an elementary school teacher is I still get excited. I get excited teaching these kids new things. I want to share anything that I can to make any lesson a teaching experience for them. Just seeing these kids when they do get something, just the glow, like, “Hey Mr. Flores I get it,” or “I understand now.” What’s kind of neat too is I have their siblings, who might be a couple of years older than them, and they’re saying, “Oh this is what my brother does. Oh I know how to do it now.” It makes them feel like they are big kids now. I love it. I really enjoy the job. There’s nothing else I would want to do.
