For Elementary (Multiple Subject)
To teach elementary school in California, you must have the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential which authorizes teaching in preschool, kindergarten, grades 1-12, and classes for adults. School districts may also look for other related qualifications and experience.
To obtain a Level I credential which is valid only for 5 years, the following requirements must be met:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from a regionally accredited university
- Teacher preparation program (credential program, including student
teaching)

To obtain a Level II Credential (renewable after 5 years) you must complete one of the following options:
